Zvex Vexter Series Sho Super Hard On Booster Effect Pedal Gorilla $169 The ZVex Vexter Series Super Hard On is an ultratransparent boost that goes from unity gain to an over 8-volt peak, while adding a delightful high-end clarity with its 5 million-ohm input impedance.The Vexter Super Hard On boost has a high-impedance input that refuses any current flow from your pickups, maintaining the magnetic field around each string and allowing your pickups to sound like the day they came off the winder. Its ultrahigh output then drives your amp into natural overload, solving the mystery of the disappearing guitar tone once and for all! The output level can exceed 8 volts peak, and when it finally distorts, the wave is shaped like triode overload, not fuzz.The Vexter Super Hard On is perfect for making the most of a classic amp and guitar, because it simply makes your guitar bigger and pushes the amp harder, causing natural overload. When cranked, it sounds much louder than a fuzz or distortion under stage conditions.WARNING: The very high input impedance of this pedal can cause strange reactions (sometimes mildly pleasant and/or arousing) when used with a vintage 'junk' (read 'cool') guitar. Zvex Vexter Series Vsd Super Duper 2-In-1 Boost Effect Pedal $199 Creator Zach Vex has a warning for those considering the Vexter Series Super Duper 2-in-1 Boost: "I WARNED YOU TO BE CAREFUL. When using this pedal, start off slow, and monitor your amp for potential damage." This is no jokewith two Super Hard On circuits in one enclosure, this pedal is dangerously loud!Channel 1Channel 1 is a conventional Super Hard On, with a gain control on the far right and a yellow LED to let you know when it's engaged. If you're familiar with the SHO, you know that it's a very sparkly sounding, high input-impedance preamp with incredible headroom, wide-ranging gain (unity to 60X!), and a maximum volume that will knock out your fillings. Channel one has no Master Volume control, but it's cascaded into Channel 2, which does.Channel 2 and Master VolumeThis channel has the very same circuit as Channel 1, but the bleeder resistor on the output has been replaced with a Master Volume control, allowing you to turn down the output volume even if the gain is cranked. When Channel 2 or both channels are on, the Master Volume is active.What's it sound like?You might wonder just how insane the Super Duper 2-in-1 sounds with both channels active and cranked up.
