You have attended not just one but a few internet marketing seminars and workshops. Maybe you have purchased one of those wonderful crash courses or surefire success programmes that promise to let you earn $10,000, $100,000 or even $1,000,000 within 6 months. Six months come and gone and you are still nowhere near to "sacking your boss" and are hopelessly drowning in the silos of information that you have acquired with all your savings. Get the idea?
Or maybe you are new to this internet marketing game. Do not get me wrong, internet marketing is the new goldmine in the 21st century but be warned, unless you stay absolutely focused, you will be joining the beeline of people who are making a dash for this seemingly "easy money".
What you need is a simple but proven Internet Marketing Success Model. There are 4 key components in this model :
- Product
- Conversion
- Traffic
- Back-end
Product
Remember building your internet marketing business is no different from building a business in the real world. It is not a get-rich-easy-and-quick scheme. You need to offer a quality product in terms of information and packaging; you need to build trust with your customer base; you need deliver good service, etc.
First decide on what internet marketing business models you like start with - product owner, affiliate marketer, membership site, or Adsense site, etc. The best advice I could give is to build a long-term and sustainable business through being a product owner in a particular space, also known as a niche, especially one that is in high demand, low competition and one which you have strong interest or expertise with. Then build that brand positioning in the that nice over time until you are recognized as the authority in that area. Do that well and in due time you will be exploiting every possible form of internet marketing models be it selling affiliate products or adsense with the list of customers you have painstaking built up - reap the harvest.
Conversion
Both conversion and traffic are premised on your marketing skills. By now I hope I will not need to belabor the point about why you do not need to know programming or computer skills to be successful on the internet. The many experts would have told you that. This is precisely where most people go astray with your internet marketing efforts. Instead of focusing on the 2 primary areas of conversion and traffic, they follow after every latest topic, gimmick or affiliate programme out there in the market. Guaranteed failure.
Focus on your sales copy. Ensure it is able to convert every single visitor to your page, otherwise you will be creating a lot of marketing waste. Become your own customer and judge if the persuasion is strong and what other bonuses can you throw in.
Traffic
There are paid and unpaid traffic. For starters, I suggest you try and maximize all your free traffic before going to Google Adwords. That way you lower your investment and breakeven earlier. Use every opportunity to market your site online and offline. You need only one skill to be successful in this business - marketing.
Back-end
This is often the part most overlooked by internet marketers. And this is only the part that separates a millionaire internet marketer from his poorer cousin who just "gets by". Right at the product stage you will need to plan for a string of spin-offs, related and affiliated products that you can lined up to upsell at every stage of the relationship with your customers. And in various forms from text to audio to video to tele-seminars and even face-to-face one day.
