This is an excellent field cordless hedge trimmer. I have a lot of tall hedges, shrubs and grass slope refers to a routine about 3-4 times a year - is a working day and a half each time, including cleaning. I previously used an electric hedge trimmer field related aggrivation very long cord. What a pain! Although this new Black & Decker cordless hedge trimmer area is difficult, is well balanced, strong, easy adjustment (angle), and much easier. I even bought an extra battery, since it requires extensive work, but still used. This is a very good and worth the price.

5', 5" 165# senior citizen (male) The battery operated pole hedge trimmer is fine for my application. I use it for trimming on a regular basis, not heavy cutting. Overnight battery charge is sufficient for trimming a very long and very tall hedge. B&D should redesign it with the motor in the base handle using a drive string up to the cutter head. Having the drive motor in the head makes it very heavy to lift high overhead. Overall a good product but not great. Nelson

Works very well. For my use, which is a yard around my home, it is a very good unit. I used it for about 30 min on and off trimming different shrubs with no problem. Works best on hedge type shrubs where the branches aren't to large. The pole extension is great for getting under and over bushes without getting on a ladder. It is a little heavey when reaching out for very long times, but over all user friendly.

Product arrived in a timely manner & works perfectly for what we need. We have a 5' retaining wall with a row of bushes at the top of the wall, which is at the end of our front yard. It is almost impossible to trim the front of those bushes with the retaining wall there. Although this trimmer does get heavy after awhile, it definitely makes the job easier to manage.

Great tool, great price
Anyone that owns a hedge trimmer or trims their own hedge will love this tool. I personally own an older electric commercial grade trimmer and a new gas powered trimmer (cost $250) and believe it or not they will sit as long as this $115 B+D continues to run.
Complaints of weight are unfounded as your standard trimmer requires you to extend your arm with the full weight of the trimmer to cut the tops of bushes that are only chest high. Anyone that has used standard trimmers will no longer fret over fatigue.
Cutting the tops, sides, between the back and wall of your home is a breeze. Until this year I needed to use an 8ft step ladder with another person holding it steady and overreaching to trim the hemlocks at the corners of our home. Yesterday, I used a portable 2 step stool to reach the top, the rest was done on stable ground.
I'm 5ft 11 inches and can easily with two hands reach 10 ft 6 inches. Run time is at least 45 minutes. Cutting thickness is between 3/8 and 7/16 of an inch depending on what you read, that being said there was nothing that the trimmer had a problem trimming. Note I was trimming, not cutting back.
The construction feels a bit flimsy, but the joint seems secure and the unit was consistent in performance, and it's sound throughout the job.
There have been negative comments about the switch. I found the safety switch to be easy to operate and keep on during use, even in awkward cutting situations.
Over all I find this trimmer to be a very good value for the money. Just for the record, I do not own B+D stock, do not work for them, no one I knows works for them, have absolutely no reason to give this a great review other than I'm passing the word, if you trim your own shrubs this is a great value.

B&D Cordless pole hedge trimmer
Very nice for hard to reach hedge trimming. The tool is a bit heavy but workable. Only good for small cuttings...larger twigs will jam the blades until they become ineffective.
There is a lot of plastic on the blade part so the tool is obviously not meant to last. It seems to be made for light trimming which will probably allow it to last many years. I use
mine on trimming ewue bushes which may be easier than a real hedge.
I do not recommend it for anything bigger then 1/8th inch. It will cut larger twigs at first until it damages the blade which will start jamming all the time. If you want a real
pole trimmer that works well and lasts, look at the " Stihl " tools. These have the basic pole which you can add different tools (weed wacker, hedge trimmer, pole saw).
