Ford kicked off the muscle car phenomenon when they introduced the pony car Mustang in 1964. In the near half-century since, the Mustang has spanned five vehicle generations, and numerous highly coveted specialty models. Perhaps the most prestigious of these is the Cobra, a designation that Ford first added to the Mustang on the 1968 Shelby edition, carrying the name over from the Shelby Cobra, of which production had ended in 1967.
One of the most famous stretches of the Mustang Cobra for sale began with a prototype built by the Ford Special Vehicle Team (SVT) in 1980. However, it would be a decade plus before Ford would establish a SVT division that would allow the team to realize this dream. An SVT Mustang Cobra for sale finally became a reality for the 1993 model year, and Ford continued to sell it until 2004.
That first SVT Mustang Cobra for sale, a Fox Body Windsor, included a 302-cubic-inch V8 under the hood that produced 235 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque. The team built it on top of the GT of the time, but it included a more-subdued styling and high-performance equipment from the Ford GT40.
Ford sold the "second generation" of Mustang Cobra SVT, the SN-95 Windsor, between 1994 and 1995. The team added more parts from the GT40 as well as new styling, a revised suspension, wider wheels, and larger brakes. There were also three new colors to choose from, but the three 1993 colors were no longer available.
To meet customer demand for more fuel capacity and a larger, more powerful engine, the SVT introduced the R-model with the 1995 Mustang for sale. The Cobra R has a Kevlar fuel tank with a 20-gallon capacity. Under the hood, the SVT upgraded the engine to a 5.0L V8, a modified version of Ford's 5.8L Windsor V8, which generated 280 horsepower.
Ford sold the SN-95 Modular SVT Mustang Cobra from 1996 to 1998. The "Modular" being in reference to the all-new modular 4.6L DOHC engine, which replaced the 5.0L V8. This new engine offered better fuel performance while outputting 305 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. Ford manufactured a specialty model of the Cobra called the Mystic Cobra that included a color-shifting paint job by BASF.
From 1999 to 2001, Ford manufactured the SN-95 2, which featured an independent rear suspension, something that was unique to the Cobra editions of the Mustang. They also included a "returnless" fuel system, and under the hood, Ford gave it a new 4.6L engine that produced 320 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque.
During these years, there was just one R-model, the 2000 Cobra R. It was a limited production vehicle (300 units), more limited than the Cobra Rs had been in the past. Ford gave it an impressive 5.4L DOHC that generated 385 horsepower and 385 pound-feet of torque. They also included a Performance Red exterior, charcoal interior, and a Recaro sport bucket seating.
During the final years of the SVT Mustang Cobra for sale, 2003-2004, Ford sold a supercharged version of the SN-95 2 codenamed the "Terminator". The 4.6L DOHC engine in this machine produced 420 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 430 pound-feet of torque at 3500 rpm. At the time of production, Ford had intentionally marketed it at 390 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque, although the reasons are not quite clear.

Ampeg SVT810AV SVT Anniversary Cabinet $1249.99 It's all about tone. And the Ampeg Classic Series SVT-810AV is the speaker enclosure theyre talking about when they say "SVT cabinet." Why does Ampeg use eight 10" speakers? Because they learned early on that 10" speakers work much more efficiently than fifteens or eighteensand if you put eight 10" speakers together, you can move a much larger column of air. In fact, you'd need five 18" or six 15" speakers to move as much air as the SVT-810AV! And they simply wouldn't be able to respond to transient peaks as quickly as Ampeg's tens. The SVT-810AV is still manufactured using the same design dating all the way back to 1969. The Infinite Baffle design of these sealed enclosures produces vast amounts of tightly focused bass. That's why you'll find the SVT-810AV on stage with such artists as Stefan Lessard (Dave Matthews Band), Gail Ann Dorsey (David Bowie, Gwen Stefani Band), Garry Beers (INXS), and far too many others to list here. In the world of high performance bass cabs, the Ampeg SVT-810AV stands tall and proud.8 - 10" low-frequency drivers 800W mono/2 x 400W stereo RMS power handling Tilt-back handle bar 1/4" and Neutrik Speakon jacks Baltic birch plywood construction Heavy-duty recessed wheels Skid rails SVT-AV head color scheme |
