The discovery of black holes could boost quantum computing
British scientists have noticed a strange similarity between the mathematics of confusion used by quantum computers, and black holes, as explained by string theory.
The team at Imperial College London, Professor Mike Duff, described in a document newly published how it is possible to use the theory of black hole from the string theory predictions about the behavior of so-called four quibit entangled particles.
This sounds complicated, and actually is Imperial College, the paper is only for professional physicists. But the consequences may be important for physics, and perhaps, indirectly, to the quantum computing.
It would be the first time that mathematics derived from a highly disputed theory of strings were used to predict anything in the universe to verify experimentally. That will raise eyebrows as slow-aging of quantum mechanics theory of post, which is still in question as it has changed.
For quantum computing it indicates a way of working with the calculations from more than three quibits starting from the black hole / mathematics of string theory. Qubit is equivalent to the conventional quantum bit is composed of entangled particles, quantum skeptic that the famous Einstein once derided as spooky action at a distance.
The problem is that the cooperation of two or three covers the calculation so complex that it is doing useful work with it becomes almost impossible.
This is not a proof that string theory is right theory of everything that is sought by cosmologists and particle physicists. But it will be very important for theorists, because it will show whether the work of string theory, even if its use is in an unexpected and unrelated fields of physics, said Professor Duff.
Duff first came up with a call while listening to a presentation at a conference on the confusion of physics in Australia. Back to Britain, he realized that mathematics was identical to that which had separately developed several years earlier to explain black holes.
You can tell us something very profound about the world we live in, or it may be no more than a bizarre coincidence, said Professor Duff. Anyhow, it is useful.

Sound Hole $60.54 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles A sound hole is an opening in the upper sound board of a stringed musical instrument. The sound holes can have different shapes: round in flattop guitars, Fholes in instruments from the violin or viol families and in archedtop guitars, rosettes in lutes. Bowed Lyras have Dholes and Mandolins may have round or oval holes. A round or oval hole is usually a single one, under the strings. Fholes and Dholes are usually made in pairs placed symmetrically on both sides of the strings. Some electric guitars, such as Fender Telecaster Thinline have a sound hole. Though the purpose of sound holes is to help acoustic instruments project their sound more efficiently, the sound does not emanate solely (nor even mostly) from the location of the sound hole. The majority of sound emanates from the surface area of both sounding boards, with sound holes playing a part by allowing the sounding boards to vibrate more freely, and by allowing some of the vibrations which have been set in motion inside the instrument to travel outside the instrument.
