What is your motive for doing what you're doing?

Is it to gain recognition to get a pat on the back? Is it to try and get something for nothing? Are you giving fair value in services or goods?

Your chances of attaining your goal in life will be infinitely greater if you have a sincere wish to provide others with a better product or service.

Sincerity is a trait that pays off in self-satisfaction, self-respect and the spiritual ability to live with ourselves 24 hours a day.

Sincerity is a matter of motive and so is greed. Before embarking on a course of action, check your sincerity yourself.

Sincerity is something that others have a right to question before granting you time, energy or money.

I had someone, who doesn't really know me, question my motive on something that I'm doing. They wanted to find out more about who I am. Did I receive any kickbacks from something and the answer is no. I'm doing what I do because I want people to succeed - to have the tools to be successful. While we do need money to live in this world, I'm not in what I do for the money.

When the going gets tough your sincerity of purpose will sustain you through the difficult periods. If you know in your heart that you're providing real value for the dollar earned, your conviction will be evident to those with whom you do business.

The definition of sincerity is freedom from deceit and hypocrisy.

If you don't have love for what you do, then maybe you shouldn't be doing what you're doing. If you have a true love for what you do, you will indeed walk in integrity, sincerity and freedom.

When you work at a job that you really don't like, you're putting yourself into bondage. Day in and day out, you're doing something that is slowly killing you, killing your creativity and keeping you a slave to something that does not bring you the freedom to soar.

It also takes integrity to walk in goodness and sincerity.

Are there areas of your life that you need to bring into integrity, sincerity and freedom?

Do you always do the things you say you're going to do or are you a person that isn't trustworthy?

As humans, we can justify just about anything.

There are people who are consciously aware if they have an ulterior motive for doing something.

There are times we are in denial and might actually convince ourselves that our motives are pure. When we are in denial, we know we're in denial and stuff the warning signal down deep because we really want things to be our way. We convince ourselves that our way is the best way, when in actuality, our way is nothing more than a destructive force; but we're so used to doing things a certain way, so we keep doing the same thing over and over again regardless of the fact that we're not going forward but just merely existing.

Deep down we know the truth, but not everyone wants to leave their comfort zone to bring about a different result in their life. It takes boldness and courage to do something different.

We prefer for someone to do things for us so we talk ourselves into believing that someone else will do it for us. If someone really loved us, they would give you the money you need to pursue your dream; if you play the lotto enough times, you'll be a millionaire, etc. Meanwhile, we're living with inner turmoil.

When we are tempted to act out in anger, revenge, jealousy, self-righteousness or very commonly personal gain, we shouldn't be surprised if we hear a voice over our shoulder, or have a gut level feeling, asking us to examine our motives, reminding us to keep it pure, to keep it real.

Our conscience also does something else interesting - when our motives or actions are suspicious, we tend to become suspicious of the motives and actions of others. We just don't feel a sense of peace. We project our actions on to other people.

Successful relationships, whether it's business partnerships, joint ventures, or personal relationships and friendships - these relationships are successful because they have people who come to the table with the intention of filling a need for the another person. Their intention is to be of service, although a wonderful byproduct is very often many blessings that they receive in return.

But when we show up to a relationship with a "what's in it for me?" attitude, the relationship will be filled with friction, tension, competition and frustration.

Life is much easier when we live with pure intentions and motives. There's nothing to figure out, nothing to arrange, nothing to hide, nothing to be anxious about. We just follow the spirit of truth, and let that guide us.

We are highly intelligent creatures. If we want to fool people, we most certainly can do it, but only for a short while. But why would we truly want to live that way?

It's best to take our energies and put them to use constructively for a truly successful life.
