Xbox 360 Flashes Four Red Lights - How Can I Fix This Problem?

Almost everyone is aware of how an Xbox 360 product costs and of course, how valuable it is to gamers. It really brings a lot of happiness to those who are into computer games and having such an expensive item just lying around in the room is such a waste. It is easy to take care of such an item but since it is a product of technology, technical errors could not be avoided. There will always be difficulties in handling these kinds of products and one of the errors encountered is when Xbox 360 flashes four red lights.

When this happens, it could mean serious trouble for you and your Xbox but there is nothing that a professional Xbox handler could not solve. When you notice that there are four red lights flashing on your Xbox 360 console, this may be due to an unconnected plug in the Xbox 360 console. Xbox 360 flashes four red lights when the audio-visual cable was either unplugged or not connected properly into the console. It is also possible that the console is not equipped in detecting the cable or that the cable is not fit for the console in the first place. Any professional would know that the flashing of four red lights by the Xbox 360 would not happen if the console is connected properly to any appropriate equipment, may it be a stereo, a VCR or a television. If, however, your Xbox 360 console includes a High Definition Multimedia Interface AV port, this is not likely to happen.

To solve this problem, you could first identify what is causing the issue. To check if the cable is properly connected to the equipment, disconnect the audio-visual cable from the console and then reconnect it immediately. You should make sure that you do this firmly to ensure that it would indeed be connected to the device. Notice that when you start to insert the cable to your Xbox 360 console, it would not start lighting immediately. And if you do not do this properly, either the Xbox 360 flashes four red lights or the screen would not be able to display anything. You would know if the audio-visual cable is indeed properly inserted when the biggest part of the connecting cable is the closest to the console's case.

When your Xbox 360 flashes four red lights, you should also check if your AV cable is clean or not. The failure of the device to display anything on the screen might be due to the dirt that is blocking the connector. To clean the cable, first pull it out your Xbox 360 console and wipe the metal area of the audio-visual cable using a clean cloth that is free of chemicals. Make sure that the cloth is not rough so as not to damage the AV cable. Once done, you could insert it firmly to the console and start making it work again.

If you are unable to do the above methods yourself and your Xbox 360 flashes four red lights continuously, you could try contacting the customer support service of Xbox and direct them your questions. It is always highly suggested to ask help from professionals who have been in the field for the long time to ensure that your Xbox will be fixed and no further damage will be done to it.
