The Ibanez Jem, the signature electric guitar of one of the best guitar players in all music Steve Vai, is one of the most precision built instruments you're likely to find in any guitar store.

This guitar is true example of that Japanese craftsmanship that most of us grew up hearing about. As soon as you open the case or hold it in your hands you know you're dealing with a serious musical instrument.

This guitar, even though is made in Japan, is as expensive as any American made, in fact you could easily score a brand new Les Paul with this money, in the $2,500+ depending which Jem we're talking about.

I've seen many that ques ton if the guitar is a little overpriced, but it's not a matter of quantity, is not that because other Guitars are using almost a whole tree for a body that you should believe Ibanez have been reaping people off this long.

What puts this guitar at this level is like I mentioned the level of precision that it takes to build and instrument designed like this. The thinness and profile of the neck, the inlays, the electronics and the quality of the finish.

Not to mention that the tremolo system might the most extreme built to date, the deep reaccessed lion claw allows notes to be bent up in pitch higher than any other guitar made. In my experience I've seen few get lucky and score one of these masterpieces for somewhat less than what they normally go, but not the norm because Jem owners tend to be dedicated.

Stores featuring special or clearance sales can save you up to a 10%, If you can live with a scratch or dent that normally also gets the 10% off treatment. eBay is another good source for Ibanez Jem electric guitars for good prices.
