It seems as if it were just yesterday. It was in senior year in high school and was working for a tele-marketing agency. Do you recall watching the movie Boiler Room? That was almost like me in a workspace making phone calls, selling Tony Robbins Personal Power series. was working for, but that was back in the late 1980’s.

For decades, people have been trained to generate leads by making lists of individuals they have known their whole life. They put on those lists, friends, family, former teachers, doctors and every Tom Dick and Harry they have ever known. Then they call those folks to see if they have an interest in starting in business. Once that initial list is gone, the way most companies will teach you to keep your lead pool full is to get good at talking to strangers. You see, these strategies work for 15% of people that get started in network marketing. Why? Because they have to have a type “A” personality. The savoir-faire marketer or business owner knows how to leverage the power of the internet to produce an endless stream of starving leads with cash in hand primed to get started in business or buy your merchandise.

There are tons of lead generation systems out there. The ones that I have found are successful, here are a few that have the best training systems behind them. 3. Monetizing - your success. Most people will quit their network marketing dealings within their first three months for the reason that they either go broke or get discouraged because they aren’t making any money. The same thing with traditional brick and morter businesses. They will shut the doors if there are not enough folks coming through the door. The list that you create (your leads) are the most significant asset you can have. It is said that a list of 10,000 folks should yield a high six figure income. Knowing how to market to that list you have built is essential to your success.
