KitchenAid manufactures and markets the Kitchenaid coffee maker as well as a full line of premium-price home appliances, including , ovens, cooktops, and washers and dryers. The company also continues to manufacture the product on which its name was built, the popular KitchenAid electric mixer. Acquired in 1986 by the Whirlpool Corporation, the largest appliance maker in the world, KitchenAid has increased its market share through the expansion of its product line.
The name KitchenAid was first introduced as a brand name for an electric stand mixer developed by the Hobart Manufacturing Company in 1919. In the early 1900s Hobart had begun producing the first electrically driven machines for grinding food items, including coffee beans, peanuts, and hamburger.
During the 1920s and 1930s the KitchenAid mixer became wildly popular the mixers were sold either door to door or through a KitchenAid party.
KitchenAid gradually came to be known for other products as well. In 1966 Hobart acquired the Plumbing Equipment Division, and in 1972 a instant hot water dispenser was available to consumers the following year the KitchenAid trash compactor was introduced. During the 1980s the company underwent several changes. In an effort to broaden its product line, and by 1987 they were making the appliances available to the general public that spring, the company offered high profit margins to selected dealers who carried the entire KitchenAid major appliance line.
Products are manufactured in Ohio, South Carolina, Mississippi, Indiana, Arkansas, Ontario, and Quebec, and distributes its appliances throughout North America.
The company is committed to the improvement of product design through market research and has established itself as the premier marketer of premium home appliances.

Nigel Lawson $70.1 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles On the election of Margaret Thatchers government, Lawson was appointed to the position of Financial Secretary to the Treasury. Although this is the fourthranking political position in the British Treasury, Lawsons energy in office was reflected in such measures as the ending of unofficial state controls on mortgage lending, the abolition of exchange controls in October 1979 and the publication of the Medium Term Financial Strategy. This document set the course for both the monetary and fiscal sides of the new governments economic policy, though the extent to which the subsequent trajectory of policy and outcome matched that projected is still a matter for debate. In the cabinet reshuffle of September 1981, Lawson was promoted to the position of Secretary of State for Energy. In this role his most significant action was to prepare for what he saw as an inevitable fullscale strike in the coal industry (then stateowned since nationalisation by the postwar government of Clement Attlee) over the closure of pits whose uneconomic operation accounted for the coal industrys business losses and consequent requirement for state subsidy.
