CF Martin started building guitars more than 175 years ago. He focused on quality of tone and outstanding workmanship. Martin now carries over 120 models in their line of guitars, including the Martin Electric Guitar. For someone who is determined to get great sound every time, Martin is it. Requiring anywhere from three to six months to ensure the best tonal quality before putting out a product is just one of the hallmarks of this company. Much of the process is done by hand, utilizing technology when appropriate.
CF Martin created his first guitar in 1833. The Rosewood, Spruce and other fine woods brought out amazing tone and Martin never looked back. Today, they company continues to create guitars to CFs exacting standards. Using the correct bracing glue, the right wood and the right strings are all a part of making an excellent product. Martin is also very conscientious about the woods they use, making sure that they are not decimating any rare woods as they create their works of art.
With so many models of guitars to chose from, we can safely say there is something for everyone. Adding the electric functions to any guitar is another piece of Martin's commitment to it is customers. From ornate guitars, to those you will carry on your back, Martin has it.
Once you have cruised through the Martin catalog, what is next? If you see what you like, find a dealer and get your guitar. If you are not satisfied with what you see, hit the custom shop and design your perfect instrument. Any authorized Martin dealer can help you with the process.
If you decide custom is not for you. But the standard guitar is not enough, then maybe the limited editions are up your alley. Martin has worked with artists like Eric Clapton, Johnny Cash and many others to create limited edition guitars that were made to their exacting standards. Check out the Limited Editions and get yours soon, they are limited in quantity and will not last for long.
Along with the Limited Edition guitars, Martin creates Special Edition guitars. Made with the same quality and expertise of any other Martin, these are not limited in quantity. They are made with the normal woods used for everyday guitars, but have the influences of some of the musicians we know and love. John Mayer comes to mind. These are much more readily available than the Limited Editions.
