Do you have a garden that needs rolling? Well it is time that you invest in a lawn roller. That is right, the garden roller is one hell of an instrument that can do a thing or two to your lawn. If your lawn has some holes or need some leveling, you can either buy a lawn roller or borrow or maybe rent one. From what I know, there are actually two main types of lawn rollers. There are the steel garden rollers which are already heavy due to the steel metal present within the roller. Then there are the poly lawn rollers which use water as its weight. You need to fill up this type of garden rollers with water so that they get big and useful as a weight to level your lawn.
Then there are different ways that you can use your garden roller. For example, you can use those garden rollers which are to be pushed. These are simple called push lawn rollers. Then there are others that can be pulled by a garden mower or even towed behind by a tractor. I believe that there are others which can be used either way, either pushed or pulled. There is not much difference for these garden rollers anyway.
You can also use a garden roller when you are planning to add new sod (which refers to turf grown and cut specifically for the establishment of lawns) or plant new seedlings (or wish to do some reseeding), you can also employ the use of a lawn roller. This is how you should lay your lawn to get some new seeding done. First, before spreading the seeds, you should roll the lawn and also rake and remove any dead grass. This would greatly help the lawn to breathe. Then you can sow the lawn with your seeds and water the lawn thoroughly. After this, you can roll the lawn which will help with the germination process. It is recommended that you plant the seeds during the beginning of the year. This will allow the seeds to grow better. Of course, it is not good to plant the seeds during extreme weather conditions. The reason of course is that the seeds would be less likely to grow properly for such cases.
Speaking of the good brands of garden rollers out there, I have identified a few which may be good to have. I have identified three good brand names. They are the Agri Fab Roller, Precision Products and Swisher. If you are looking for some good garden rollers, these are the brands you should look out for.
