A Guide to Electric Showers - Choosing the best shower for you
Electric showers operate by taking water directly from a cold water supply and heating it up as the shower is being used. These types of showers rely on heating mains cold water and don’t use a pump.
Electric Showers provide a range of benefits to modern, domestic life, these benefits include;

What to consider when buying an electric shower
There are a number of electric showers available on the market today, the main differences to look out for when choosing one are:
The KW
This is the most influential aspect of the electric shower because it determines how powerful it is. A high power electric shower ranges from about 8.5kw to 10.8kw. On top of the KW, there are a variety of different shower models – some with a more powerful spray than others.
The Design
This is a matter of personal preference. There is a huge range of showers to suit modern bathroom i.e. chrome and slim line, or the white, understated looking showers for more traditional settings. The price are for chrome showers and accessories is usually higher than the traditional ranges.
The Accessories
All electric showers come with different accessories. Some come with soap trays, some with separate shelves and some have thermostatic controls which keep the temperature at a constant level. Thermostatic showers are great for a number of reasons - they avoid the water going cold when somebody else in the house uses hot water, they also offer the added security of the shower not getting dangerously hot, this is particularly useful for more vulnerable shower users.

Maintaining your shower
Keeping your shower clean is basic hygiene, but bear in mind that many household cleaners contain abrasives and therefore shouldn’t be used for cleaning plated or plastic fittings. These finishes should be cleaned with a mild washing up detergent or soap solution. To remove limescale, use your thumb or a soft cloth to wipe any build up from the soft rubber nozzles and the front face of the showerhead.
