I acquired a few guitars over the years and one of my favorites has always been my Telecaster Thinline. There is no doubt that the Fender guitars is a lot, and it is no exception. If you ever get a chance to try one on, you also love the sound and feel of this classic!
A Telecaster is a Thinline semi-hollow version of the Fender Telecaster, which is characterized by the f-shaped hole and reshaped pickguard. It was originally an attempt to obtain a lightest guitar in the 60s when the supply of light ash started falling.
There are two versions made, version '69 Telecaster that has two microphones and a mahogany body and the '72 version which has two pickups and a Fender wide range of natural solid swamp ash body.
I love my '72 version. It has an ash body semi-hollow C-shaped maple neck and bullet truss rod, bridge Start Three bolt neck plate and two wide range humbucker pickups. It also includes the f-shaped hole to give it a warmer and more rounded than the Telecasters others. The sound is definitely more meaty than the original classic. The humbuckers give it your big stadium rock concert. In fact, my friends are still my A invention to interact with guitars, then when we meet to play a few songs. They love the sound and feel as much as me!
When Fender went out with the Telecaster origin, they were really something. Then they came with these reissues, and after checking, I really liked the feel but I was a little leery to purchase first because it seems that the reissues are never as good. I found myself with an '72 version and it surprised me, was every bit as good as the original, or better.
I must admit I was a bit skeptical about the micro-tilt neck, with 3 screws that secure, but in reality, the action of the neck is great. The semi-hollow sound a different tone, and it is great for blues, country music and alternative rock. In fact, the sound is where this guitar shines absolutely. It is versatile and wide range on the bridge is fantastic. This guitar plays very smoothly and even better melodies.
For durability, this Tele is built strong and can hold up the heaviest of heavy metal action. The craftsmanship is excellent. About the only complaint (and one I heard from other owners Telecaster Thinline) is the guitar has a lot better if you change the volume pot 250k to 500k. Almost everyone seems to make this slight change as it makes a huge difference, and the humbuckers are much more open now. This is as close to perfection as it gets.
The finish is like glass, with the strong poly finish that holds up the most difficult acts. My friend accidentally dropped a cymbal on him and he does not even not to breach. I was relieved and surprised! I have natural maple finish and I like how the grain of the show through the woods. I also love the pearl pickguard, which makes a great guitar classic looking.
The pieces are all solid, which is approximately thing that is important, especially in the reissues. Sometimes they just do not do as they did. This is not a problem with this model. I like the way it is clean on the bridge pickup for picking heavy chain or even jumping and I want to throw it in the neck position for solo blues or jazz / blues rhythms. It gives a lot of versatility for different types of music.
