6 Steps To Healthy Hair - Jerrold D. Bass

These days, looking good is more important than ever, so if you want to look your best, there are loads of great products around to help you get the best results from your bob. Follow these five tips from Jerrold D. Bass and you’ll leave the house feeling and looking great!

The foundation for healthy hair is to use the right kind of shampoo. You need to invest in a high quality salon shampoo that matches your hair type. Jerrold D. Bass recommends Paul Mitchell products. If your hair has been colored, make sure that the formulation of your shampoo is right for you. Everyone’s hair is unique. If yours tends to be oily, fine, or if you’re a blonde or a brunette, check in with your stylist for advice on what kind of shampoo to purchase. Don’t be like the majority of people who grab an inexpensive product from the local supermarket shelf and hope for the best, when what they really need is a high quality shampoo specifically formulated for their hair type.

Once you’ve got clean hair, the next step is to make sure it’s deeply conditioned on a regular basis. Hair conditioners are formulated to add body to your hair, to remove unwanted frizz and to add shine. As an example, you know how unpleasant and scratchy your clothes become when you forget to use a fabric conditioner sheet in the dryer. Hair reacts in much the same way. A quality conditioner also tends to keep hair static free, which contributes to the reduction of frizziness even more. When you apply the conditioner, massage it in from root to tip and leave it on for the recommended time before rinsing it thoroughly. Then enjoy your new, shiny, healthy-looking hair!

Most people use a hair dryer to style their hair. Modern hair dryer technology causes less harm to hair these days, but be very cautious when using the dryer on a high heat in order to get your hair dry quickly. Jerrold D. Bass recommends that you keep the dryer moving over your head and dry hair evenly in order to avoid damage. If you have the time, it’s always better to use a hair dryer on a cooler setting.

If your hair is very wavy or curly, it’s critical to use a good hair-straightening device. Most people find that the cheap flat irons do a poor job; so going for quality is well worth the extra money. A less expensive iron may not get hot enough to flatten the hair properly on a single pass. Or it may not be slippery enough to allow the hair to pass through smoothly, causing snags and breakage. Choose ceramic or glass heating plates, and make sure that there is an adjustable temperature. Ceramic plates help to discharge the static electricity from your hair too, and you’ll most likely find that your hair will stay straighter for a longer period of time.

Finally, Jerrold D. Bass encourages his clients to make healthy choices in their diets. As with the rest of our body, hair is nourished by what we eat and drink, and it will never look healthy if we neglect to consume a healthy diet with lots of vitamins and minerals. Human hair is mostly made up of protein, so make sure your diet includes plenty of protein. Drinking 6-8 glasses of water each day will flush impurities out of your body and keep your hair (and you!) looking it’s healthy best.
