The much awaited retirement is finally here, you can finally start reaping the benefits of your hard work all these years. Retirement doesn't mean you need to start staying at home from now on. Retirement means you can start spending time on things you've really wanted to do and achieve all along that you could not find the time to.

Here are some tips to stay active when you retired

The first day is often the most important day of your life after you've retired, why? This is because your first day is often used as a corner stone for the rest of your retired life. If you spend your first day sleeping until mid day, then most likely you'll find yourself doing the same thing for at least the next few months to come.

Doesn't sound much like an exciting retirement life, does it?

Although you might think that there are plenty of time to do the things on your to do list, if you do not allocate time to do it, it will never happen! Don't think of it as a time off from work, because there will not be work anymore, instead this is a start of a new chapter in your life, your past chapter should be left behind for it does not determine what you want to do from now on.

Truth is, many retirees do not stay as active as they should or they can be, because they fall into a pattern on their very first day. In order to stay active, you should definitely make it a point to take care of your exercises, diet and outdoor activities.

Your life should not end just because you feel that you're no longer useful in a sense that you can not work anymore. You should view this as an opportunity to explore areas where you have never thought you could excel in such as arts, sports, hobbies and even embark on education if you want to!

Staying active is the only way to maintain a healthy and livable life style, being in a healthy condition can unlock many opportunities for you to explore in in the future, why would you not want that?

If you're nearing your retirement now, perhaps it's a good idea to spend some time working on your list. Find out what you've been enjoying all along and what you've always wanted to do all this while. Although you should not let age be a factor to stop you, don't expect to do high risk sports without consulting your doctor!

Spending your retirement is often a wonderful time, provided you stay healthy and never stop living your life. This is also the time you start meeting new people, have another form of success or even start a business, the sky is the limit, but your age is not!
