This article is addressed to guitar students, anyone who has an interest in guitar, or anyone who might find this article interesting. In short it is addressed to anyone.

Playing guitar is an art form. Whether you are an acoustic guitar player or a classical guitarist, a heavy metal player or a jazz guitarist, whatever style of music you do - rock country, reggae, or anything, - you are first and foremost an Artist. As a guitar student you should be learning how to become an Artist of the whatever-you-do-on-your-guitar. Once you learn how to do it well enough, you are there.

Music is a language and like any other language it is used to communicate - exchange or relay ideas, concepts, feelings, emotions etc. As a guitarist and a musician you are as good, as you are good at relaying your ideas, concepts, feelings, emotions etc... through your guitar. If you can do that well, you are a good guitarist and an Artist of your instrument. If you can do that great, you are a great guitarist and Artist.

So where is that magical point where you as a guitar student become a Guitar Artist? You may ask yourself this question: "When am I good enough?" You may even go as far as tormenting yourself all your life never thinking that you are "good enough". Well, an Artist is the one who can take his ideas, concepts, feelings, emotions etc... and relay or communicate them through his art. If you can do that through your guitar then you are a Guitar Artist.

The moment you find yourself being able to land your ideas, concepts, feelings, emotions etc... in the listeners court, and you know that they landed in whatever shape or form - there is your magic point, that's all that matters - you have created, accomplished, performed your Guitar Art. You are a Guitar Artist now!
