Almost everyone has heard the terms "flat feet" and "high arches" but we hardly ever hear a reference to neutral arches.  Ever wonder why that is?   The reason is most likely because only 15% of people have neutral arches.  That means 85% of us have arches that are either described as flat or high.

If that is true, why are flat feet and feet with high arches generally considered a problem?  People who have flat feet or high arches tend to turn their feet in when they walk, a condition known as over-pronation; or, they tend to turn their feet out when they walk, a condition known as over-supination.
